Our Company / Gasgrid as an employer

Gasgrid as an employer

Our aim is to provide reliable and safe gas transmission to our customers every day of the year, while safeguarding Finland’s security of supply. We maintain Finland’s gas market and promote a carbon-neutral energy and raw materials system by actively developing our transmission platform, services and gas markets customer-oriented. We have been mandated by the Finnish government to develop a cross-border hydrogen network.

The starting point for everything we do is to help Finland become carbon neutral and at the same time enable prosperity, jobs and economic growth – also at regional level. The opportunity is unique and to make it happen we need new, motivated people to join us. Our job is very important – but at the same time, not everything is ready yet. That’s why we want you to have both the courage and the desire to develop and grow with us.

What is it like to work at Gasgrid?

Although we are growing at a fast pace, we are proud of the high level of satisfaction among our staff. We measure staff satisfaction once a year through an internal staff survey and an external reputation survey. In the most recent survey, staff’s willingness to recommend their employer (eNPs) was excellent at 47. Gasgrid is perceived as a responsible workplace with professional and nice colleagues, a strategy and objectives worth pursuing, interesting and meaningful tasks and a collaborative spirit. There is pride in working at Gasgrid and praise was also given to the work of the support staff.

What are we doing to improve staff well-being?

We invest in a safe, reliable and comfortable working environment and in the flow of information within the company. We organise, for example, staff briefings, information sessions and actively share information through articles and videos on our intranet.

We also organise various events for staff, which are important for maintaining and developing a sense of community and well-being at work, as well as for training and sharing information.

A bold and open corporate culture – We value everyone’s input and vision and work hard to promote open communication. We stand behind our values “we work together”, “we build the future” and “we acknowledge our responsibility”.

Professional and friendly colleagues – In our staff survey, many people cite their friendly, competent and helpful colleagues as the best part of our workplace.

What kind of jobs do we offer?

We employ top professionals to work within the gas market, hydrogen development, LNG terminal and project implementation. Your title could be e.g. Project engineer, Development manager, Account manager, Process safety specialist or Maintenance manager. In addition, we have roles in support functions (HR, IT, Legal, Communications, Accountability, Finance, Corporate Affairs, Security).

We are located in five places: Espoo, Kouvola, Imatra, Mäntsälä and Inkoo. The majority work in our offices in either Espoo or Kouvola.

How do we support our superiors and employees at work?

We want to invest in good superior work, competence development and provide support and training our supervisors, and do this through our own Gasgrid Academy. The academy aims to increase the skills and competencies of supervisors. The academy is designed to support our supervisors in times of change and to increase staff motivation and engagement. We encourage all of our staff to develop themselves and their skills in their jobs and through training.

What kind of working model do we have?

We work mainly in a hybrid environment, but we also have tasks that require presence at the workplace (e.g. control room duties). It is up to the teams themselves to determine the appropriate ways to work flexibly, both locally and remotely.

We aim to facilitate the reconciliation of work and family life through a range of flexible working time arrangements, depending on the nature of each assignment. These options allow us to facilitate the balanced participation of our talents at different stages of their lives.
