What are cookies and for what purposes do we use them on our website?
What are cookies?
Cookies and similar technologies can be used to collect e.g. your IP address, various device and advertising identifiers, and data about which websites have been visited at any given time, or to track which content has been used or products purchased, or whether you have clicked open the newsletter we sent, for example. If the data collected through cookies is personal data, the data will be processed in accordance with the privacy statement in addition to what is described here.
- Essential cookies: Essential cookies are related to the basic functionality of the website, and the website may not function correctly without them. For example, cookies are used to remember the language selection and the answer to this cookie consent enquiry. Essential cookies are always turned on unless you block them from your browser settings (see “How can you manage and delete cookies?” below).
- Analytics cookies: Analytics cookies are used to collect data on how our website and services are used in order to improve the performance and user experience of our website and our services, e.g. by understanding which pages and features are popular and how people navigate our site. We ask for your consent to the use of these cookies when you enter our website. If you do not accept these cookies, we will not be able to improve our website and services as effectively.
Analytics cookies are used to collect anonymous site usage data. The cookie allows tracking the user’s movements between different visits, but not the identification of an individual user. For example, we use Google Analytics to analyse and track the use of our online services. Usage data is collected through cookies, but the data is not processed or stored in a way that would allow tracking the usage of an individual user. The data is used to improve the user experience on our website and to track the number of visitors on the website.
Persistent and session cookies
The cookies used on our website may be persistent or session cookies. A persistent cookie remains on your device after you close the browser and will remain valid until the due date set for it (unless you delete it before the due date). A session cookie ceases to be valid at the end of the session when you close the browser.
First- and third-party cookies
Cookies may be set by our website (“first-party cookies”) or by our partners, such as advertisers or analytics services (“third-party cookies”). Our website currently uses only first-party cookies. Any personal data collected through cookies is always transferred and disclosed to third parties in accordance with our privacy statement.
Cookies used on the website
The table below lists the cookies used on our website, as well as their purpose, type and period of validity. The table also indicates whether it is a first-party cookie or a third-party cookie.

||The _ga cookie set by Google Analytics calculates visitor, session and campaign data and also tracks the use of the site for the analytics report on the site. The cookie stores the data anonymously and assigns a randomly generated number to each visitor to identify them.
||The _gid cookie set by Google Analytics stores data about how visitors use the website while creating an analytics report on website performance. Some of the data collected includes data on the number of visitors, the source of visitors and the pages they visit anonymously.
||A cookie set by Google Analytics that is used to distinguish between users.
We may include technologies similar to cookies in our newsletters and customer communications to track their success and, for example, the number of times our messages are opened. We do not want to send unnecessary messages, so in this way we are able to analyse the success of our communications and make it more interesting to the target group.
How can you manage and delete cookies?
Most web browsers enable you to manage cookies even by using web browser settings. For example, by changing your web browser settings, you can prevent cookies from being set on your device.
