Trading on the EEX exchange platform for spot and futures products in the Finnish and Baltic market areas will start tomorrow, September 9th at 9:00 AM EEST. With the opening of EEX’s operations, GET Baltic, which has been operating in the area, will cease its operations, and the last trading day on the GET Baltic platform will be gas day September 8th. Trading on the GET Baltic platform for this gas day will end on September 9th at 5:30 AM EEST.
The nominations for trades executed on the EEX platform will be sent directly by the exchange (ECC) to Gasgrid as single-sided notifications, and therefore no trade notifications are required from the market participant for trades executed on the exchange platform. The trade notification principle is the same as previously with GET Baltic.
For cross-border trading on the EEX exchange platform, the same amount of technical capacity has been allocated from Balticconnector as is currently with the GET Baltic platform, i.e., 5% in the Finnish exit direction and 10% in the Finnish entry direction. An exception is the first trading day on September 9th, when EEX will not offer implicit capacity in Balticconnector for cross-border trading. On gas day September 9th, the entire technical capacity of Balticconnector has been allocated for bilateral trading. When fetching data via API endpoint regarding the fulfilled trades on EEX’s platform from Gasgrid Portal, market party code is 1051.
The ICA trading time, during which part of Balticconnector’s capacity is allocated for cross-border trading on the exchange platform, is from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM EE(S)T for the day ahead trading (DA) and from 3:00 AM to 3:00 AM (24 hours) EE(S)T for intraday trading (WD).
Gasgrid will use the daily weighted average price of trades executed on the EEX platform, i.e., the neutral gas price, to calculate the balance gas prices, following the same principles as with GET Baltic. Gasgrid will also continue to publish balance gas price information on the Gasgrid Portal front page.
