Investing in security has paid off. Gasgrid Finland’s own personnel have achieved 1000 accident-free days, and the company’s suppliers have 498 accident-free days behind them.
“We have invested in safety since the first day of the company, and it is great that our personnel and suppliers are committed to our safety principles. Every safe work and gas day is a source of pride for us”, says Ari Laurila, Gasgrid Finland’s security manager.
At Gasgrid Finland, safety work is reflected in the daily life of the personnel in many different ways. Each employee completes for example an online safety course that covers safe working and safe use of gas. In addition, all of our personnel recently completed emergency first aid and first fire extinguishing training. Safety work also includes a lot of handling of safety observations and risk assessment and other proactive safety work.
The importance of safety is emphasized throughout the supply chain
Gasgrid Finland requires that suppliers and various projects also comply with the safety and operating principles set by the company. Each of the company’s partners is also required to complete an online safety course.
“From here it is good to continue towards the next safety milestone. We will continue the training of our personnel and partners and the development of the safety culture even further”, says Laurila.
