On Wednesday in Finlandia Hall in Helsinki, Gasgrid Finland will organise its customers and stakeholders an info event discussing experiences after the opening of the gas market. The event can also be watched online.

The Finnish pipeline gas market was opened up to competition on 1 January 2020. Gas transmission system operator Gasgrid Finland has invited its customers and stakeholders to an event organised in Finlandia Hall, where the purpose is to share experiences in the opened market and to look into the future of the gas market. In addition to representatives from Gasgrid Finland, the event will feature speakers from GET Baltic, which provides gas exchange services for the Finnish gas market, the Finnish Energy Authority, which controls the market, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment.

“The opening of the gas market was a major turning point in the Finnish energy field, and we are happy to say that the transition to open competition has succeeded well. We have a strong focus on the future and we are actively developing our services and the existing infrastructure to promote a carbon-neutral energy system. An open dialogue between the market participants and authorities is critical in this process as well,” depicts Olli Sipilä, the CEO of Gasgrid Finland.
