Transmission System Operator (TSO) has monitored and reviewed after first month of operation, that all market participants are not taking care of their commercial balances which have led to a growing commercial imbalance in the Finnish gas system. Based on European network codes as well as Finnish gas market rules, market participants should primarily balance themselves instead of relying on TSO’s actions at the market.

Balancing actions from now on:

TSO continues to monitor daily imbalances during each gas day and whenever estimated imbalance of the Finnish gas system reaches high enough value; TSO will activate balancing actions by selling or buying gas in the Get Baltic gas exchange. TSO will inform market just before starting actions by turning system balance traffic light to yellow or red in the Gasgrid customer portal.
