COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) 2017/460 on the harmonised transmission tariff structures for gas (the ‘tariff network code’) requires a consultation on the reference price methodology used to determine tariffs. The consultation period ran from 16 April to 16 June 2025. Gasgrid thanks all market participants for their submitted opinions. The feedback focused particularly on the proposed new transmission pricing component, the connection capacity charge. Gasgrid received seven statements, with the majority expressing critical views on the connection capacity-based charge. Gasgrid considers the received opinions to be of high quality and will reassess the principles related to the connection capacity charge based on the feedback. A response has been published addressing the themes raised in the opinions and outlining the areas Gasgrid will re-evaluate.
The European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) will publish its analysis of the consultation material by 16 August 2025. After receiving both the market participants’ feedback and ACER’s opinion, Gasgrid will engage in discussions with the Energy Authority regarding potential changes to the proposed transmission pricing framework. In the autumn, Gasgrid will organize an event for market participants to review and discuss themes related to the transmission pricing framework.
