Gasgrid Finland will hold an open webinar for market participants on April 15 from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm

Gasgrid Finland will hold a public consultation on the Reference Price Methodology. The consultation period is 1st April 2020 until 1st June 2020. Regarding the consultation, Gasgrid Finland will hold an open webinar for market participants on April 15 from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm, presenting the content of the consultation, with an emphasis on the description of the calculation methods. The webinar will be held in English. In the webinar, market participants have an opportunity to ask questions.

Since the very beginning of 2020, Finland is following the gas regulations of the European Commission. One key regulation is the network code on harmonised transmission tariff structures for gas (TAR NC). The TAR NC imposes an obligation to consult on the reference price methodology used in tariff setting. At the moment, the postage stamp methodology is used as the reference price methodology. Before the tariffs for 2021 can be set, the Energy Authority shall approve the reference price methodology according to the following schedule:

The consultation includes, inter alia: a description of the proposed reference price methodology and a comparison of the reference prices (tariff of annual product) of postage stamp methodology and the reference prices the capacity weighted distance (CWD) methodology, preliminary information on TSO allowed revenue for 2021, commodity tariff estimates and non-transmission tariff estimates.
