Services

We offer our customers gas transmission, commercial market services, and LNG injection, regasification and reloading services. We serve industry, energy companies and wholesale market participants and, in future, also hydrogen infrastructure customers.

Contact us

We offer our customers physical gas transmission services and commercial market services, as well as injection, regasification and reloading services for the liquified natural gas (LNG) transmission network. Currently, we primarily serve industry operators, energy companies and natural gas wholesale market participants. Going forward, our customers will also include national hydrogen transmission customers in industry, energy production and transport, all of which are sectors requiring large volumes of hydrogen or its derivatives.

Our businesses are Gas Business, LNG Terminal and Hydrogen Development, as well as Project Execution, which is responsible for executing our projects and for pipeline relocation work.

Our operations

Gas Business

Gas Business services cover gas transmission in our transmission network, connecting to the network, as well as market services, which include balancing services and balance settlement. We also maintain a virtual gas trading point and Datahub, a centralised data exchange for the retail market.

Our guarantee of origin (GO) service verifies the origin of (natural/methane) gas or hydrogen and ensures that the gas is produced from renewable sources. Using the service, market participants can reliably prove the origin of their energy to customers and meet legislative requirements.

More about our Gas Business

LNG-terminal

The Inkoo LNG terminal offers our customers liquified natural gas (LNG) regasification, storage and reloading services around the clock, 365 days a year. The terminal receives LNG from ships arriving at the port one to three times per month, depending on customers’ capacity reservations. As needed, the LNG is regasified into the gas pipeline or loaded onto smaller vessels in liquid form, so that the gas can also be supplied to LNG terminals outside Finland’s gas pipeline network.

The terminal’s operations are developed based on customer needs. Its offering includes long-term capacity, annual and spot capacity, as well as flexibility and reloading services. Capacity and inventory transfers between terminal users are also possible. The operations are based on a flexible terminal as well as ensuring security of supply and supporting market participants’ business.

Hydrogen Development

We are developing both a national hydrogen infrastructure and an international cross-border hydrogen infrastructure for the Baltic region, as well as the future hydrogen market, which will enable the safe and efficient transmission of hydrogen for the needs of industry, energy production and transport.

In hydrogen development, the key is co-operation with different participants, and using various studies and surveys, we want to ensure that the hydrogen infrastructure meets the needs of market participants and regions. In future, we will offer our customers hydrogen transmission services to enable the linking of production and consumption and a broad hydrogen market.

Together with future hydrogen transmission customers, we are developing connection readiness to the transmission pipeline by implementing the initial planning phase’s techno-economic analyses. Future customers have also been given the opportunity to sign a letter of intent with Gasgrid to demonstrate the future transmission need and to support the national system design. The hydrogen infrastructure is being built in consultation with multiple stakeholder
