Gasgrid as an employer

We offer meaningful and impactful work at the forefront of the energy transition.

Our mission

The starting point for everything we do is to help Finland become carbon neutral and at the same time enable prosperity, jobs and economic growth – also at regional level. The opportunity is unique and to make it happen we need new, motivated people to join us. Our job is very important – but at the same time, not everything is ready yet. That’s why we want you to have both the courage and the desire to develop and grow with us.

Our aim is to provide reliable and safe gas transmission to our customers every day of the year, while safeguarding Finland’s security of supply. We maintain Finland’s gas market and promote a carbon-neutral energy and raw materials system by actively developing our transmission platform, services and gas markets. We have been mandated by the Finnish government to develop a cross-border hydrogen network.

Gasgrid plays a significant role in society, and our work is genuinely important and meaningful. Skilled, well-being and proud Gasgrid employees create the foundation for growth and a carbon-neutral society.
Our work community is open, inclusive and inspiring – there is a strong culture of working together. Gasgrid employees are community-minded, responsible, and active experts who are working together to build a carbon-neutral future.
Our corporate culture is based on three values: We work together, we build the future, and we acknowledge our responsibility. These values were created together with our personnel, and they guide everything we do – from strategy to everyday decisions and interaction.

How do you support the well-being and coping of your employees?

A safe and healthy working environment is one of the most important cornerstones of Gasgrid’s culture and operations. Our goal is a well-being and functional work community. Gasgrid offers its employees:

  • Health center occupational health services for maintaining physical and mental health.
  • The opportunity to join Enerkem’s health insurance fund for additional security.
  • Auntie service for preventive support for mental well-being in everyday life and work challenges

In addition, we promote, develop, and monitor well-being at work in internal forums and conduct an annual staff survey to measure, among other things, well-being at work, the working atmosphere, and leadership. The results and the measures derived from them guide our development work throughout the year.

Do you offer remote working opportunities or flexible working hours?

Gasgrid supports the reconciliation of work and leisure time in various ways. We mainly work in a hybrid model, but we also have tasks that require physical presence at the workplace (e.g., control room duties). Teams are free to determine the appropriate ways to work flexibly in both on-site and remote work. We strive to facilitate the coordination of work and family life through various flexible working time arrangements, taking into account the nature of each task. These options enable us to facilitate the balanced participation of our skilled employees in working life in different life situations.

How does the induction process work for new employees?

Careful preparation, high-quality induction, and follow-up ensure that every new employee has the best conditions for success in their role. It is important that new employees embrace our strategy, mission, vision, and values – this is influenced by good guidance and work monitoring. Well-executed onboarding helps employees integrate into the work community and strengthens their commitment. Onboarding is also arranged when an employee moves to a new position within the organization or returns after a long absence.

At Gasgrid, every new employee goes through a structured induction plan that includes unit induction and mandatory courses on safety, responsibility, data protection, and personnel matters. The supervisor bears overall responsibility for the implementation of the induction process.

How is employee feedback collected and utilized?

Gasgrid conducts an extensive annual personnel survey, which is a key tool in the development of the work community. The personnel survey measures, among other things, the meaningfulness of work, leadership and supervisory work, well-being at work, the atmosphere in the work community, and understanding of and commitment to the strategy. Based on the results, concrete measures are drawn up and monitored internally. We also ask for feedback and opinions from our personnel in connection with the monthly personnel information sessions. Feedback is processed internally in connection with the activities of the personnel and culture management forum.
