Gasgrid is a partner of the Amber Gas Corridor initiative, which brings together European gas transmission companies and LNG terminals. This collaboration involves Finland, the Baltic states, Poland and Ukraine as part of the wider gas infrastructure in Central and Eastern Europe. The Inkoo LNG terminal, part of the Gasgrid Group, is one of the gas corridor’s key entry points. The Inkoo terminal will offer an even more competitive route for LNG deliveries to Europe once the terminal has reduced its prices from the start of 2027.
The aim of the Amber Gas Corridor collaboration is to make gas transmission as seamless as possible for market participants from the Finnish and Baltic market areas to the markets of Central and Eastern Europe. A key objective is also to strengthen market integration in cross-border gas transmission, as well as the security of gas supply.
The collaboration involves infrastructure operators responsible for gas and LNG infrastructure in the region: Amber Grid, Conexus Baltic Grid, GAZ-SYSTEM, Elering, KN Energies and Gasgrid.
The Amber Gas Corridor, based on existing LNG terminal, gas transmission and storage infrastructure, enables reliable and flexible gas supplies from Finland all the way to the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. A unified gas corridor improves market participants’ access to energy markets and optimises the use of existing LNG and gas transmission infrastructure in Northern and Central Europe.
It offers market participants access to diverse gas supply sources, integrated regional markets and gas trading on the pan-European EEX energy exchange and the Polish TGE energy exchange via trading platforms.
–The Inkoo LNG terminal, part of the Gasgrid Group, is one of the gas corridor’s key entry points, alongside the Klaipėda LNG terminal, says Rasmus Hellman, Commercial Manager at the Inkoo LNG terminal.
The Inkoo LNG terminal is reducing its regasification prices for 2027 from the current €2.46 per megawatt-hour to €1.96 per megawatt-hour.
–As a result, the Inkoo terminal will offer an even more competitive route for LNG deliveries to Europe from the start of next year, says Hellman.
In early 2026, the infrastructure operators involved in the collaboration surveyed the views of companies using the route or considering its use. Forty-one market participants responded to the survey. The feedback covered the route’s accessibility, capacity booking, tariffs, maintenance coordination, regulatory requirements and operational processes.
Based on this feedback, the partners agreed on development measures to improve the route’s competitiveness. The aim is to simplify capacity booking, increase tariff transparency, coordinate maintenance, and harmonise market access and operational processes across the entire region.
Measures already implemented include reducing transport and regasification tariffs for 2027, drawing up a practical guide for the gas corridor, and improving the coordination of regional maintenance. The ongoing development of the route will strengthen the competitiveness, transparency and efficiency of cross-border gas transmission.
Gasgrid is a multi-gas company of the future providing energy transmission system solutions to promote clean transition and an energy-efficient society. We strengthen Finland’s economic growth, security of supply, and energy independence, and support the balancing power required for emission-free electricity production. Through our international infrastructure projects, we are preparing to meet the demand for clean gas energy in Europe as well. Gasgrid Group’s business operations consist of gas operations, LNG terminal operations, hydrogen development, and project execution. More information: gasgrid.fi
