Entry tariff discounts for renewable and low-carbon gas – submit H1/2026 data to Gasgrid by 31 August

Gasgrid supports the development of the domestic market for renewable gases, and the growth of renewable gases within the Finnish gas system. One concrete measure to support the development of the market is the entry tariff discount for renewable and low-carbon gases. Data for the first half of 2026 must be submitted to Gasgrid by the end of August 2026 for the discounts to be granted.

The entry tariff discount applies to renewable and low-carbon gas produced in Finland that is injected into the Finnish gas system. Renewable gas is eligible for a 100 per cent discount on entry capacity charges, while the discount for low-carbon gas is 75 per cent, provided that the applicable requirements are met. The discount is determined on the basis of verified injection volumes and the required certificates.

How to report renewable and low-carbon gas injection to Gasgrid

Data for the first half of 2026 must be submitted to Gasgrid by 31 August 2026 at the latest. The data must be provided monthly.  For renewable gas, guarantees of origin, sustainability certificates and the information required to verify the traceability of the gas batch must be clearly linked to the gas batch injected into the network.

More detailed requirements, the necessary data and reporting guidelines can be found in Gasgrid’s guidance on entry tariff reductions for renewable and low-carbon gas.
